A brief grinding of steel on steel quickly gave way to a weightless free fall. The craft plummeted toward a rolling sea surface below. The small orange craft plunged into the dark waters of a large breaking wave.
Its strong buoyancy began to overcome the extreme downward forces, as Erica screamed in terror. Cooper’s head whip lashed forward then back again, hitting hard on the seat back. The large wave instantly rolled the survival craft over, crashing it into one of the large legs of the giant oil platform."
